School was so-so, nothing to really be all that excited about. He had decent grades sometimes and other times, well, he had to stay after school a couple times. And he definitely didn't like to remember his summer school experience with no A/C and a blistering hot classroom. However, there was something about school that Damien had liked, and it was something that his parents had been a little shocked about at first. Not that they didn't approve, but they actually hadn't expected their son to be well that good at it. Acting. Singing. Dancing. Well, Damien actually worked off his ass on the last part and ended up taking lessons. It was weird, but it was something he really found a passion in.
Theater camps, programs, workshops, and anything he could do took up most of his time on top of doing drama at school. After working his ass off to finish high school with decent grades, he got into Hunter College where he would major in theater. It wasn't easy, sure he did a couple productions at school, did some local productions, and was able to start getting some parts at Westchester Broadway Theatre. His first starting role there came in August 2007 when he landed the role of the sadistic dentist in Little Shop of Horrors. This of course didn't mean he was going to get every role he wanted, or a role in general. When he was struggling with finding a part, he worked some odd end jobs. Luckily he was able to grab some work at the Theatre as a waiter or worked the box office.
It was during this time that he was dating a girl by the name of Savannah Shapiro, the relationship lasted almost two years. However, sometimes Damien got lost in his career that he wasn't always the best boyfriend. They eventually split amicably and tried to stay friends. A few other relationships, botched auditions, Damien started to wonder if he was cut out for this. He just focused on taking what he could get and he figured that was better than nothing.
Towards the end of 2010 Damien got his first role on Broadway, something he had always strived for. A swing role in the remaining performances of American Idiot. He had to admit it was probably the hardest he ever had to work before, but it was totally worth it. Once the run was done, he continued to work to make money as well as go on auditions. Hairspray and Fiddler on the roof came next, bringing him back to Westchester Broadway Theatre. Then in the spring of 2015 he started as Jehan Frollo in The Hunchback of Notre-Dame at the Paper Mill Playhouse. Now he is continuing to try to work, and hopes to lands a part in another Broadway production.
